Each year during the second and third weekends in September, the Hawk Cliff Foundation hosts interpretive weekends including daily demonstrations of live birds at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to explain this miracle of nature.
Bring lunch and a lawn chair, as well as your binoculars, and enjoy watching hundreds, possibly thousands of hawks fly overhead as monarch butterflies flutter by.
Where to meet: Birds Canada parking lot at 9:45 a.m. and we’ll carpool to Hawk Cliff (east of Port Stanley).
Alternate date: September 27
Meetings
Meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Simcoe Recreation Centre, Norfolk Room. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and the program begins at 7 p.m.
Field Events
Various field outings are also planned throughout the year, and include trips to local conservation areas, bird banding, winter tree identification and much more. Field outings are free of charge.
